I spent most of my evening yesterday in the ER with an ear infection. It was bad, and the doctor was worse. It could tell you how bad it was, but I believe a conversation sums it up better.
Her: So how did it go last night?
Me: It was bad, the doctor was mean.
Her: How mean was He?
Me: Well lets just say that when he left the room, I gave him my angry eyes.
Her: Oh, thats bad.

GOD, the Master, The Holy of Israel,
has this solemn counsel:
“Your salvation requires you to turn back to me
and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves.
Your strength will come from settling down
in complete dependence on me–
The very thing
you’ve been unwilling to do.”
-Isaiah 30:15
